It’s All About the Name

Movies in the Newspaper came about because…well, TV on the Radio was already taken.  But it makes a lot of sense…you see, television is a new technology that essentially took over radio, much like the movies did with the newspaper. Instead of spending Friday night necking underneath the day’s top headlines, young couples could now retreat to the back of a cinema with the advent of movies. The new technology was great because it was darker and there was a lesser threat of ink stain-age.

Okay, that’s a lie. They stole it. (They aren’t that creative). It was a joke Colbert made when TV on the Radio was on his show.
